Why it happens

Striping is electrostatic bonding of pollution and roof runoff to the gutter finish. Overflow is usually debris inside the gutter — a different problem entirely, and we quote them separately so you never pay for the wrong one.

The Safe Touch process

Diagnose first. We tell you whether you need a face brightening, an interior clean-out, or both — before quoting.
Brightening wash. A gutter-safe wash lifts tiger striping without stripping the finish.
Interior clear-out. Debris removed by hand, downspouts flushed and flow-tested.

Honest disclosures

Standard cleaning vs. brightening. A standard wash removes dirt, pollen, and light grime from gutter faces. Embedded "tiger striping" — the dark vertical staining left by shingle runoff and airborne pollution — bonds to the finish and does not wash off.
Brightening is a separate service. Striping removal requires a dedicated brightening treatment at an additional charge. We'll show you on your own gutters which is which, and quote before doing anything.

Pricing guide

Faces-only brightening typically runs $75–$200; interior clean-outs $100–$250 depending on linear footage and home height. Often bundled with a house wash.
